Debate Orientation

Many academies believe that debate is just explaining your opinion and giving reasons why other opinions are wrong. However, this is not the type of debate taught at Leaders. We teach technical formats that are used in competitive environments. Debate is a team activity that requires students to learn and master different roles, strategies, and skills in order to win. Orientation is designed to provide the fundamental skills and format of debate so new debaters are able to understand what debate really is before they enter a real debate class. This is integrated into our curriculm for a seamless learning experience, however we do provide extra support and assistance to new debaters to get them up to speed with the rest of the class.

Orientation Contents

Eight weeks of recorded classes and lectures will be available to debaters

24/7

Debaters will be given unlimted help throughout the orientation process via Discrod or Google Classroom

3 hours a week of video lectures will be available to debaters to help them with homework.

We will take things 1 step at a time and allow for a gradual learning experience.

Optional Dual Learning

Debaters are able to join our normal debate class while doing orientation. Debaters will be required to complete orientation homework and regular class homework for the first two months. This will be an intensive period to help them catch up to experienced debaters.
